Our History

From the past to the present

Established in 1965, Cressy Bowmen was originally based in Enfield, before moving to it’s current home at Rundle Reserve in Salisbury South.

The club was named for The Battle of Cressy. The Battle of Cressy was a major engagement in the Hundred Years’ War in the year 1346 where British forces armed with longbows successfully defeated a much larger French force. The battle is regarded as a major driving force in archery becoming common place among western culture.
